How much does it take to provide cold, clean water

to two and a half thousand students?

Take an old class rooms and worn out desks

And clean them up

Add a bit of sanity,

organization

And color…

Fix broken windows

And cover them with shades

 

Take an old library

And put books

and tables and chairs

 

Worn out, lifeless corridors

And fill them with light

Clean up rusting fans

And bathrooms…

How much does it take to give a little bit of TLC when you are sick and wanting for care

And a spoonfull of sugar to help your medicine go down.

Add a conference room

And a lab

Or two

With a schedule

 

A room to freshen up your soul

And leave your children in peace, while you teach mine

What does it take to bring a child out of darkness

Into the light and put a smile on her face…
