I agree with Jawwad. Pakistan has given us a lot and we should be cognizant of this fact. He mentioned the name of Dr. Mujtaba Hassan, who took care of him. I know him very well as he was my doc from my childhood days. I still remember his clinic at Burned Road specially his compounder who used to give us magic some powders and tablets with amazing healing properties.

Hmmm. Have you see the work CAS and Sami have done with Government schools lately. Quick search on CAS, Nishtar school project will bring up the relevant posts here

While I agree with Jawwad on this one word by word but I am not too sure if this distribution of wealth phenomenon is going to continue to hold true in coming years. Where I started and where I have ended up will not hold true for the current lower-middle class kids simply because there is not enough of it. The Parsi school that Jawaad mentioned or the Doctor who treated his family is now dealing with more volume since doctors and schools like that didn't keep pace with the population growth. The official numbers indicate a three fold increase in population in Karachi and Lahore (unofficial estimates are usually 4.5 to 5 attributing to migration from rural areas). This means that the entire educational, transportation, health care and food/water related resource base should've trippled as well.

Education has been a key in the growth of this demographic (to which myself and Jawwad belong) allowing for wealth creation. A kid in that situation today has significantly reduced chances to repeat Jawwad's success because of scarcity of physical resources particularly health and education.
