Beware of the Ides of December.
10 years ago, this month, packed up and got ready to move to New York.
9 years ago, the same month, received my first six figure offer and said no.
The next time the month came along, I found myself in Tokyo, pitching to the third largest bank on the planet, the largest deal in my life.
12 months later started work on a 10 page article for Harvard Business Review that turned into a 280 page book.
A year after I started on the book, it was time to say no to my third, slightly bigger, six figure offer and head back home.
And now I am off to SP Jain Dubai again, in the same old month of December to corrupt some young, some not so young minds again.
There must be something about single digit temperatures that sucks rationality out of our minds.
Thank God for December and roads not taken.
(Ps: In case you are wondering you are looking down Amsterdam (and 116th) in Manhattan, NYC, in early spring and the second building on the left is the new (then) Columbia Business School campus where Avicena, venture number one was hatched and incubated.)
